2/38 Coach-house 15 metres west of kitchen wing of Farfield Hall
GV II
Coach-house to Farfield Hall (q.v.). Early C19. Punch-dressed stone, ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 13 irregular bays. Plinth, raised quoins, moulded gutter brackets. Set in 1st and 11th bays are segmental-arched carriage entrances with impost blocks and keystones. Semicircular-arched doorways with impost blocks, keystone and fanlights in 3rd, 6th, 9th and 13th bays. Matching windows with small-paned glazing and fanlights in 2nd, 4th and 5th, 7th and 8th, 9th and 12th bays. 1st floor has keyed oculus in 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th (solid) and 11th (solid) bays. Right-hand return wall has Venetian window. All windows and doorways have raised surrounds. Hipped roof with 2 stacks.
