GV II
Main school block with attached water tower and railings. 1902. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Slate roofs with coped gables and kneelers. Chamfered eaves, plinth and cill bands. Quoins. North front, has single storey triple gabled facade. 2 central 3 light cross mullion windows, flanked by 3, 2 light similar windows. Chamfered lintel band and 2 further bands in gables with central quatrofoils. Inscribed 'BOARD SCHOOL 1902'. West front has projecting entrance porch, to north, with tall pyramidal roof. A double door with 2 light mullion overlight and to the left a 2-light cross mullion window. Low wall with spearhead railings connects with massive square water tower with deep chamfered band and 2 tall roundheaded lancets, to each face, topped by projecting cornice and parapet. To south a single storey wing with 3, 2 light cross mullion windows, then a 2 storey range approached up a ramp with a small projecting porch to right with pointed entrance arch. To the left 3, 2 light-mullion windows, and above 4 smaller similar windows. Beyond a 2 storey block, at basement level, with 4, 3 light cross mullion windows and 4 smaller similar windows above. South front, 2 storey, with gabled slightly projecting cross wing to right, and 4 bay range to left with 4, 3 light cross mullion windows, and a small porch, with 4 smaller similar windows above. East front has 2 storey, 4 bay projecting corner wing with attached tall square chimney stack. Remaining east facade mirrors west facade. Attached to the north, a low wall with spearhead railings and 5 sets of gabled gatepiers to Green Lane frontage.
