SOWERBY BRIDGE STEPS LANE SE 0624 (north side, off) 10/246 Willow Clough and Willow Lodge - II House now 2 dwellings. c1800, possibly with earlier origins. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. Garden (south) front: 2 storeys, 2:4:2 bays with central break, rear access. Ground floor: sashes with glazing bars in architraves to central 4 bays; to each pair of outer bays a central French window in plain stone surround with moulded cornice. lst floor: sashes with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds and with cill band. Hipped roofs. Stacks flanking central block and at rear of side blocks. Interior of Willow Lodge: stair hall has 6-panel doors, dentil cornice and swagged and beribboned plaster ceiling rose. Dog-leg stair with turned C18-type balusters and ramped handrail. On lst floor three good c1800 grates.
