Details
SOWERBY BRIDGE ROCHDALE ROAD SE 0422 and SE 0522 (east side, off) 15/189 Bullace Trees Cottage - - II House. Late C17 - early C18, much altered late Cl8 and early - mid C19. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 first-floor windows, the left and right hand parts being stylistically distinct. Left hand part: 2 windows to ground floor and 3 above all having 20-pane sashes in plain stone surrounds with projecting cills. Right-hand part: on right, a 4-panel door in plain stone surround with a 2-light flat-faced mullion window to its left; on left, a chamfered mullion window now of 2 lights; on first floor two 4-light flat-faced mullion windows each with small-pane glazing and the lower half of 1 light sashed. End stacks and one to ridge between parts. Rear: on right, a chamfered single-light fire window to right of a 4-light, now 2-light, chamfered mullion window; blocked plain stone surround doorway on left; to first floor a 2-light and a 3-light flat-faced mullion window. Interior: in the right-hand part the left room has a C19 range in a corniced plain stone surround.
