Part of public house. Early C19. Ashlar magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays. Panelled door and overlight with radial glazing bars on left of a 2-storey bow window having sashes of 4, 12 and 4 panes with projecting stone sills and chamfered stone mullions; above door is a later 4-pane sash with projecting sill and flat arch. Paired brackets to wooden eaves cornice forming gutter. Tall stack rises from roof slope on left; cement-rendered end stack on right. Rear has two sashes with glazing bars to 1st Floor and graduated slate roof. Right return: round-headed stair window has sash with glazing bars; smaller round-headed attic window; numerous inserted windows. The part described was a freestanding structure prior to later addition on left which is not of special interest (see Scott p 65). B. M. Scott; Boston Spa, 1985 (plate).
