Boundary Stone at 2010 2955

II

Boundary stone. C17 or earlier. Stone. Square-section monolith approx. 100 cm tall with square recess in one side and uneven top. Apparently the "mearstone" recorded in 1688 as a boundary stone of the Manor of Tong "with a whole in itt lying at the topp of Wiskithill". It appears to have been moved a little way from its original position. "Boundary of the Manor of Tong, 1668," The Bradford Antiquary New Series, Part XVIII, October 1915.
