Parish church, Largely restored or rebuilt 1873 by C. R, Chorley (Pevsner) but with some late medieval fabric, Sandstone ashlar, slate roofs (except porch), West tower, nave with north and south aisles, chancel. Perpendicular style. Three-stage tower with diagonal buttresses has 2-centred arched west doorway with 2 orders of hollow chamfer, hoodmould (rendered) and studded double doors; above this a C19 recessed 3-light window with tracery; belfry windows of 2 cusped lights; cornice on corbel table and embattled parapet with crocketed corner pinnacles; clockface an south side. Five-bay nave has square-headed recessed clerestory windows of 2 cusped lights each and embattled parapet with crocketed pinnacles. Four-bay, south aisle has gabled porch to 2nd bay protecting a late-medieval moulded inner doorway with massive studded double-layer oak door; and large 2-centred arched 3-light windows with Perpendicular tracery. Four-bay north aisle, under pitched roof, has similar 3-light windows, the middle pair lacking tracery. Both aisles have buttresses and embattled parapet with crocketed pinnacles, Two-bay chancel has large east window if 5 cusped lights with Perpendicular tracery.
Interior: C19 arcades of double-chamfered arches on octagonal columns; chancel arch with clustered shafts; tower arch with 3 orders of chamfer; late medieval coffered nave ceiling of massive moulded beams with carved bosses; font dated 1662: octagonal bowl on fluted pedestal, the panels lettered in relief:- R:W N:W C:R R:W R:B R:S R:H I:I Vicarus 1662 T:R Wrothwell Restored 17 octagonal spire-shaped font cover, with carved openwork panels; at west end of north aisle a marble monument with effigies, to Mary Anne Faviel, 1942 by" J. Towne, Sculpt. GUYS HOSPITAL, London".
