DODLESTON C.P. CHURCH ROAD (South east side) Greenwalls Farmhouse II

Farmhouse, probably late C17, with C19 wing, left, slightly recessed. Brown brick, irregular bond, with graded grey slate roofs. Two broad sandstone-coped gables, with kneelers, to front. Two storeys; the C17 portion has 4 upper and 2 lower windows containing mid C19 iron casements in timber sub-frames. The Victorian wing has small-pane casements, mostly of timber. Flush brick chimneys in end gables. Late C19 oak framed gabled projecting porch over C18 6-panel door, the four lower panels with reeded margins. Interior much altered. A former cheese-room is in the upper storey of the Victorian wing.
