Details
MALPAS C.P. CHURCH STREET SJ 44 NE (South Side) Georgian House, with 2/51 plinth and railings to garden. (formerly listed as Ivy Cottage) 22/10/1952 II GV
House, circa 1830, of Flemish bond brown brickwork with grey slate roof. 2 storeys plus attics; 3 windows. Door of 4 fielded panels above 2 flush reeded panels in panelled portico doorcase with columns (modelled on Tower of the Winds, Athens) and flat entablature; radial bar fanlight. 16-pane flush sashes with gauged brick flat arches and projecting stone cills. Attic windows, altered, in end gables. Parapet with plain coping at front. 2 projecting chimneys on each gable. A pleasing, unaltered front. Sandstone plinth to small front garden has cast iron railing to each return, plain except for spike finials. Interior not inspected.
