3/56 Holly Farmhouse
G.V. II
House. Mid C18 core remodelled and extended c.1800. Rubble to all walls except garden front which is of ashlar; stone dressings, slate roofs. C18 former dairy at right-angles to road, originally an extension of former farmhouse which was subsumed within the larger house created in c.1800. Garden front of 2 storeys, 3 windows. All windows are 8 pane sashes which at the time of resurvey (June 1985) were about to be replaced. Central ground floor blind round-headed niche and above, a blind window. 1st floor string course. East front has round-headed doorway with fanlight and scattered single light round- headed fenestration with Y tracery. Double span roof, end ashlar stacks. C18 wing has 2-light edge moulded mullions with small leaded pane casements. Interior. Newel staircase with oak treads to south west corner of main house; some chamfered beams.
