5/107 Parsonage Farmhouse 21.9.60 GV II

Farmhouse. Dated MB/1VLY.21/1642 on overmantel in wing set at right-angles to road; later C17 wing parallel to road. Rubble, colourwashed and rendered with stone dress- ings and double Roman tile roof. Two storeys, scattered fenestration. Windows to 1642 range comprise one 3 and one 4-light chamfered wooden mullion with fixed panes and 2-light ovolo mullion with hoodmould to roadside gable end. Later range has one 3-light ovolo mullion to ground floor and two 2-light ovolo mullions to upper floor. Lean-to porch at angle of 2 wings with single light window next to doorway with C19 plank door. 3 end brick stacks. One storey addition to left-hand has C20 aluminium window and on west gable end a reset mediaeval gargoyle. Interior. Tudor arched fireplace to ground floor room in 1642 wing and compartmented ceiling with moulded beams. Newel staircase in south west corner of early range.
