ASTON BY SUTTON C.P. ASTON LANE SJ 57 NE South West Side 3/28 Former font 1 metre north of nave of St Peter's church, half way between north porch and chancel. GV II Former font, probably early C17, of red sandstone. Circular shaft on moulded base, belled out to octagonal head, each side of which is decorated with a pattern of 6 arcs, each intersection terminating in a flat trefoil, pointing inwards, in a small sunken rectangular panel. Octagonal domed top made of 2 stones with a shallow octagonal basin. The font is just over 1 metre high.
