5/24 Brook House Farmhouse.

22/10/1952 II

Farmhouse: mid C16 with C19 addition and fenestration. Timber framed on stone base, extension in rendered stone. Welsh slate roof, 1 ridge and 1 gable brick chimney. Lobby entry, 2-room plan. 2-storey, 4-bay front, right 3 bays original. Tall small framing with middle rail and angle bracing to sills. Jetty at 1st floor on brackets. 2 and 3-light wooden casements in end bays and central C20 door in wooden case. Small light above. Similar windows in extension to left. Against right end is a flight of stone steps to former granary with 4 board door and iron strap hinges. Tiebeam and collar truss with struts between, kingpost and diagonal struts above. Interior: not fully inspected, but exposed ceiling beams and joists visible and wide inglenook reported.
