II

Farmhouse. Dated IGA/1651 on front, C19 windows and later alterations. Rubble,
rendered, pantiled roof with brick gable stacks, some double Roman and stone
tiles. Originally through passage plan. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all 16-pane
sashes except ground floor right and left 20-pane and central 16-pane sash;
lower 2-storey wing to left with no windows and battered walls. Right return
has blank gable end, left return has 2 segmental-headed 2-light casements and
first floor C20 window with segmental head. Rear has 2 gables rising nearly to
ridge height each with 2-light casement and hood mould, ground and first floor
left have 3-light casement of late C19 with hood mould, to right a 4-pane light
with remains of hood mould at ground floor, first floor has 16-pane sash with
hood mould, C20 door in addition to right; long single storey wing running from
rear centre, at left side has door with strap hinges, three 2-light casements and
small gabled dormer, 2 courses of stone tiles at eaves, brick ridge stack, at
right side 3 doors and 2-light casement with glazing bars. Interior: room to
front left has deep chamfered and stopped beams, heavy lintel to fireplace with
C19 mantel over, similar beams throughout, newel stair to left from first floor
to attic level.
