House, originally an Inn, which runs behind Nos. 36 Market Square and 20 Market Street. Dated 1636 and 1830. Incised stucco. Graduated stone-flagged roof with central brick chimney. 1½ bays frontage. 3 storey south end was altered in C19 (rainwater head dated 1830); through passage has 1636 initialled and dated lintel with 4-centre arched head and single sash window to each upper floor. 2 storey north end has single sash window to each floor. Internally, the north end room has an C18 fireplace with moulded surround and cornice; a C17 floor-standing cupboard is built into the north wall of the middle room.
