ST BURYAN SW 32 NE 4/28 Banns Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. C17, remodelled in C18 and C19 and extended in the C20. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof with dressed granite stacks over the gable end. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters. Plan: L-shaped plan. Original house was probably a 2-room plan with cross passage between leading to a stair projection at the rear. In the C18 part of the front wall and the right-hand end were rebuilt and an outshut was added behind the right-hand room to the same depth as the stair projection. The eaves were heightened in the C19 and the outshut has been extended in the C20. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with central doorway. The openings are C18 except for an original C17 chamfered outer frame of a formerly 2-light mullioned window at ground floor left. C20 ledged door with integral overlight and late C19 or C20 4-pane horned sashes. C17 chamfered window openings at left hand gable end (blocked) and to left-hand wall of original stair projection. Beside this window is a large granite mounting block. Interior has late C19 or C20 features. There is possibly a C17 fireplace concealed behind a later one in the left-hand room.
