Details
ST BURYAN SW 42 SW 8/34 Cottage about 90 metres south of - Boscawen Rose Farmhouse II Small house. Circa mid C19 with later C19 extensions. Granite rubble with dressed granite front wall. Asbestos tile roof with gabled ends. Dressed granite gable end stacks, the right-hand stack is larger. Plan: Double depth plan with 2 principal rooms at the front and probably an entrance passage between leading to a staircase in a projection at the rear. There are probably shallow rear service rooms. At the back there is a large later-Cl9 1-storey outshut and another at the right-hand end. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window south front. Large C19 6-pane sashes with vertical glazing bars, all in opening with granite lintels and granite sills. Plain central doorway with a granite lintel and a C20 glazed door. The single-storey outhsut at the right-hand end is granite rubble and has a hipped scantle slate roof and a doorway and casement window at the front. The rear elevation has a rectangular stair projection to right of centre and a C19 6- pane sash on the first floor to the right. Large rear outshut is granite rubble with a hipped asbestos tile roof, small casements with glazing bars and a plank door. Interior was not inspected.
