House and single storey outbuildings. Dated 1693 on lintel with initials W.M.L. Roughly squared and coursed sandstone walls, thatched roof (under corrugated iron) stone end chimneys. House was probably originally single storey under one roof with outbuildings, and raised to 2 storeys during the C18. Doorway on cross passage, small firewindow to right and two windows with Yorkshire sashes on ground floor all have chamfered stone surrounds. Two later casements to upper floor have plain stone surrounds. Interior has original fireplace and heck with complete C19 range inserted into it, and the roof is supported on a pair of upper crucks. See, E. Mercer, RCHM, English Vernacular Houses, 1975, no. 55.
