Monument to Sir Samuel Sadler 1913 by Prof Edward Lanteri (Kensington); G.
Hart, mason (Kensington); A.B. Burton, founder (Thames Ditton). Polished
Peterhead granite pedestal, steps, walls and piers. Signed bronze statue,
and tablets. Standing male figure in court costume and mayoral robes.
South face of pedestal has achivement of arms of Middlesbrough Corporation,
above tablet with raised lettering: "SIR SAMUEL ALEXANDER SADLER, KNIGHT
V.D. 1842-1911". Pedestal stands on 2 steps, uppermost chamfered. Partly
enclosed, on north side by low crescent-plan wall with curved-topped
copings, terminating in short piers with shallow pyramidal caps and tablets,
with raised lettering, on south faces.
