Farmhouse, initiated and dated on quartered shield to door lintel: I.S.A.S. 1624. Extensive additions and alterations, mainly C19. Rendered rubble with batter to original north return. String between floors; cavetto eaves moulding. Graduated slate roofs with outshut to rear; brick chimneys. 2 storeys. 4 bays of 1624 house extant. Studded plank door in 2nd bay from left has false 4-centred head to decorative lintel; door jambs replaced. 3-light, stone-mullioned, window to extreme right; similar window to left of door had C19 paired sash inserted. 2-light, stone mullioned and transomed window above door has had lower part of mullion replaced by casement; similar intact 3-light to either side. All windows (except inserted) C20 glazing, with imitation diamond leading, in chamfered surrounds; all openings under hoodmoulds. 2-bay C19 extension set back on right has to each floor, and panelled door. Byre range, adjoining at right-angles to left, replaced south end of house (foundations discovered when present floor laid). Interior : Large fireplace uncovered in ground floor south room; fire beam survives behind C20 stud wall. Large chamfered beams. Splayed, segmental, inner head to driginal window (now blocked) visible on ground floor to north of stairs.
