7/77 Blunderfield Farmhouse and barn
II
Farmhouse and barn. Dated 1807 with initials I.L. over entrance, incorporating earlier features. Coursed red sandstone rubble walls have ashlar painted quoins, with V-shaped joints; Welsh slate roof, end stone chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. C20 glazed door has quoined surround with V-shaped joints and dated lintel. 2-pane sash windows have plain painted stone surrounds. Rendered walls to rear, probably obscure original details; ground floor C18 window to right has chamfered surround, all other windows of early C19; C20 porch and door to left. Adjoining barn at right angles to rear, has earlier house to right. Coursed red sandstone rubble wall has been raised, sandstone slate roof. 2 C19 ground floor entrances with filled fire window to right. Upper floor window has been 2-light stone mullion with chamfered surround, now 6-pane casement; filled single light window to left. C19 extension to left under common roof, joins with farmhouse. Large projecting cart entrance with plank doors to left, entrance right has half plank doors, slit vents. Listing excludes other outbuildings and breeze block extension to farmhouse.
