ST MELLION NEWTON FERRERS SX 36 NW 7/258 Barn 150m to north west of Newton Ferrers House GV II

Barn, probably shippon with threshing floor above. Present use uncertain. Circa late C18. Stone rubble with granite quoins with asbestos slate roof with hipped ends. 2 storeys. East elevation with dressed segmental stone arch on left, partly blocked. Large C20 double sliding doors to centre. West elevation with 2 wide rusticated stone segmental arches, partly blocked, flanking central, rusticated stone arch. 2 openings above with timber lintels and 2 newer openings with concrete lintels partly blocked. 2 late shallow wings projecting forward on west. Included for group value.
