Farmhouse. Mid or late C16 with C19 alterations and additions. Painted
roughcast walls, under graduated greenslate roof with coped gables; painted
rendered chimney stacks. 3 storeys, 2 bays. C19 gabled stone porch has plank
door in stone surround. Left ground-floor C20 window in original surround with
stone mullion removed; right sash window in enlarged C19 painted stone
surround. First floor 3-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows under
hoodmoulds. Second floor 2-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows. Lean-to
right C19 dairy extension has plank door and slit vent. Outshot has rear
upper-floor 2-light stone-mullioned windows. Interior had original Tudor-arched
fireplace now removed. Beamed ceilings and ground-floor window seat. Straight
stone stairs in outshut. Thin walls suggest a late C16 date, but could be
earlier. This building replaced the medieval manor house.
