ALSAGER FORMER U.D. (Off) AUDLEY ROAD SJ 85 SW 10/3 Bank Farmhouse - GV II
Farmhouse. Early C17 with later alterations. Timber framed with rendered brick infill. Plain tile roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: small framing with angle braces. To the left is a projecting C19 or C20 service wing and at right are a doorway and two C20 windows, one a bow and the other of 2-light casement form. To the first floor are a single-light and a 3-light casement window. Portion of brickwork at right painted in simulation of timber framing. Ridge stacks at left of centre and right. The right hand gable end has 6 x 3 cells of small framing with angle braces and an ovolo-moulded bressumer to the slightly jettied gable and 3-light C20 windows to the ground and first floors and one 3-light attic window with ovolo-moulded mullions. The rear has C20 3-light casement windows to the ground floor and a door at right of centre and is painted in simulation of the pattern of timber framing, which lies beneath the render. Interior: The ground floor rooms have chamfered and ovolo-moulded ceiling beams with exposed rafters between.
