WINSFORD FORMER U.D. (Off) WHITEGATE ROAD Gatepiers in churchyard of St Mary.

GV Pair of gatepiers. Dated 1736. Ashlar. Two square piers. Sides facing green have projecting plinth with moulded tops. The bodies of the piers have two lower raised and fielded rectangular panels set vertically. Above these is a smaller rectangular panel set horizontally with a further panel set vertically above that, the right hand one being dated. Cyma moulded caps with apparently later finials with round ogee moulded stems supporting large balls. The rear faces to the churchyard are similar, the inner faces have rectangular rebates with acorn finials. Ramped walling to either side and late C19 gates between (neither listed).
