5/74 Cross base and Cross in Churchyard of Church of St Lawrence.
GV II
Cross base C15 and cross of 1907. Ashlar. Square. Three steps rising to square plinth which dies, via corner spurs, to an octagonal shaft base. Cross above inscribed 'To the memory of Philip Tatton Mainwaring 1907,' with octagonal shaft rising to moulded plinth supporting gabled canopy covering cross and two figures of saints. A portion of the original shaft to the cross survives as the support to a sundial in the churchyard (q.v.).
