7/21 Nos. 1 & 2 Henbury Smithy -
GV II
Two cottages. Formerly smithy and blacksmith's cottage. Mid/Late C18. Red English garden wall bond brick with slate roof. Two storeys. Road frontage: slightly projecting brick plinth. Three bay facade with four-centered'arches formerly to Smithy but now bricked up and containing 2-light casement windows. Pilasters forming clasping buttresses at the corners and in pairs between the bays with moulded brick capitals at the level of the first floor window sills. There are sunken arched panels between these pilasters. Two-light casements to first floor. Cottage section at left with cambered headed doorway to right and 2-light casement window to left. Similar 2-light casement to first floor. All the windows are C20 replacements. The two right hand smithy arches show signs of having been rebuilt. C20 addition to rear.
