PARR STREET/VICTORIA PARK
Howley Footbridge
(Formerly listed as Rowley Footbridge)
II
Crosses River Mersey (New Cutting) and connects streets around the Parish Church to Victoria Park. Iron suspension bridge inscribed "David Rowell and Company Engineers, Westminster, erected February 1912". Each end has two tapering square piers of open ironwork, with round arches across the pathway. The bridge itself is a graceful curve, all in dainty proportions.
