ORMESBY LADGATE LANE, south side NZ 51 NW (off) 6/36 Barn and byre ranges, c.20m west of Ormesby Grange Farmhouse. G.V. II
Barn and byre ranges, mid/late C18; left byre range partly rebuilt and raised by eight courses mid/late C19. Brick with stone quoins to doorways. Clay pantile roofs with stone ridge copings. 2-storey barn,and single- storey byres adjoining left, form U-Plan; single-storey byres,enclosing covered fold yard, adjoin right side of barn. Overall rectangular plan. South-east front: end wall of barn has central boarded door flanked by renewed windows; enlarged first floor opening with boarded door, flanked by lozenge-pattern breathers; and brick dentils below eaves of hipped roof. Byres flanking left and right; right byre has boarded door flanked by renewed windows, and boarded double doors under timber lintel at right end. Stop-chamfered angle at right end. Left byre range originally a yard enclosed by wall with opening in left return; now partly roofed over to form byres. Boarded door and blocked doorway at right end; clay pipe breathers below eaves. Left return on barn has central boarded double doors under timber lintel and relieving arch. Interior of barn has galleries at ends, and collared angle-strut roof trusses with 2 levels of butt purlins.
