LOFTUS HALL GROUNDS NZ 7218 (east side), Loftus. 4/19 No. 12 (Blanchland) and No. 14. G.V. II Mansion,early C19, for Sir R.L. Dundas; slightly later wing to left and mid/late C19 rear wing. Now 2 houses. Dressed sandstone with chamfered quoins. Late C20 immitation stone slab roof with stone gable coping to right. 2 storeys. Garden front (south): 5 bays. Central doorway with late C20 door. Sashes with glazing bars, those to 3 right-hand bays renewed; stone sills. Slightly recessed single-bay wing to left in similar style, with 9-pane sash on first floor. Shallow-pitched roofs, hipped at left end. Corniced ridge stacks. Late C19 canted bay window on ground floor of left return. 2-storey wing in keeping adjoins rear of mansion. Former service wings (Laurel Cottage) adjoining right end and rear are too much altered to be of interest. Formerly known as Loftus Hall.
