Details
LOFTUS HIGH STREET NZ 7218 (north side), Loftus 4/22 No. 19 (Tea Shoppe) G.V. II Poor house, late C18; subsequently used as chapel and school. Altered c. 1975 when converted to cafe. Dressed sandstone. Welsh slate roof with stone ridge and gable copings and stack raised in brick at left end. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Central doorway holding late C20 ½-glazed door. 16-pane sash windows, that at right-hand side of first floor renewed. Stone sills and sill band on first floor. Shallow-pitched roof. Interior has 2 mid/late C19 fluted cast iron columns supporting beams of upper floor.
