NZ6116 GUISBOROUGH MARKET PLACE (east side)

GV II House and shop. C17 (possibly earlier) with C.18 and C.19 alterations. Rendered and painted stone. Late C.20 concrete tiled roof: hipped and gabled. Rendered brick stack to R.H.S. 3 storeys. Late C.19 ground floor shop front with light fluted fascia columns and moulded dentil cornice, Altered late C.19 doorway and late C.20 shop front to L.H.S. All upper floor windows have been altered or enlarged at various times and include sashes, with and without glazing bars, and fixed lights. Internal roof structure suggests upper cruck construction. Formed part of No.13 Market Place formerly 'The Cock Inn', an C.18 coaching house. Included partly for group considerations.
