BURLESCOMBE GREAT WESTERN CANAL ST 01 NE 1590-0/5/10002 Twin Culverts at ST 0643 1643 II

Twin culverts. Built 1810-14 for the Great Western Canal. Two circular brick-lined culverts with large curved retaining walls of dressed stone including flanking abutments. Finely crafted with ashlar copings and raised stone panel in centre of retaining wall above string course and culverts. A fine and rare example of this type of canal structure.
