Details

CALSTOCK LOWER DIMSON SX 4271-4371 7/122 Butterfly Cottage GV II House. Probably C18, with alterations of C19 and C20. Stone rubble, painted at the front, rendered at the right side. Bitumenised slate roof with gable ends. Gable end stack to left with brick shaft, rear lateral stack with rubble shaft to right. Plan: 2-room plan, the room to left heated from a gable end stack and the room to right heated from a rear lateral stack. Central entrance. Single storey lean-to added at the left side, heated from a stack at the side. Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front ; all windows are C19 12-pane sashes. Central C20 half-glazed door in C20 glazed and gabled porch. Single storey lean-to to left with rubble stack, possibly originally a wash-house/scullery. Interior: Not inspected.
