Details

CALSTOCK COTEHELE QUAY SX 4268-4368 9/93 The Malthouse GV II House. Mid C19 with later alterations. Slatestone rubble with brick dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with rubble shafts and cornices. Plan: 2-room plan with central entrance ; each room heated from a gable end stack. Attached to front left is a 3-storey tower of one-room plan, unheated and open at ground floor level. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-widow front, all windows C20 replacements. Ground floor has two 2-light casements to right and one to left, all with brick segmental arches. Central C20 door with slate hood. First floor has 3 small 2-light casements with small gables over. The tower to left has round arch with keystone at each side at ground floor. First and second floors have 2-light casement to front and right sides, second floor front has a single light, left side has first floor 2-light casement. At the left side, the gable end of the house has 2-light casement at ground floor to right and C20 porch to left. Two 2-light casements at first floor. Right side has external stack and 2-light casement at first floor to left. Small single storey C20 addition with door and window. Interior: Not inspected.
