GV II
Farmhouse and garden wall to front. Possibly early C19. Stone rubble, slate-hung on higher right-hand gable end and on rear. Cement-washed scantle slate roof with lower left-hand gable end and half-hipped right-hand higher end. Gabled rear wing with asbestos slate roof. Lower projecting gable end chimney stack to kitchen on left with C20 brick shaft; rendered axial brick chimney stack at higher end of hall and rendered brick end chimney stack to inner room at higher end on right; projecting truncated chimney stack to rear wing; C20 front lateral brick shaft to outshut on lower right-hand gable end. 3 room and cross passage plan with kitchen at lower end on right, and heated wing at rear of passage. Hall and inner room of near equal size. Original position of stair uncertain. 2 storeys, regular 3-window front. Ground floor with 3 probably C20 2-light casements with glazing bars below dressed stone segmental arches. C20 part glazed door in dressed stone segmental arch asymmetrically placed nearer hall between first and second window opening. Straight joint to left of door. First floor with 3 probably C20 2-light casements with glazing bars. C19 outshut added on lower left- hand gable end with probably C19 lean-to outshut to rear between rear projecting wing and lower end. C20 glazed outshut of concrete block with C20 fenestration and corrugated asbestos roof. Interior with fireplaces partly blocked. Inner room and first floor not inspected. Stone rubble wall to front of house enclosing small garden. Higher Wringworthy Farmhouse illustrates an interesting plan for a probably early C19 building, adopting the traditional 3-room plan but having a large inner room parlour the same size as the hall.
