Farmhouse. Late C18 with alterations of mid C19, few later alterations. Slatestone
rubble; partly slate-hung. Slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends,
gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front left and
right. In the mid C19 a porch was added to the front entrance. The service rooms
are to the rear, kitchen to left and dairy to right. There is an unheated outshut,
probably a C19 addition, to the rear right.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window range. First floor has 16-pane sashes of
of C19. Ground floor has larger 16-pane sashes with central porch with hipped roof
and glazed sides, half-glazed door. The first floor level is slate-hung, ground
floor in painted rubble. Left side blind. Right side has 2-light casement at ground
floor to right, lighting the dairy, and a 4-pane sash at first floor to right. The
rear has a 16-pane sash at ground and first floor to right, and a single storey C20
addition to centre, with a C20 light above. Single storey unheated rubble outshut to
left, with door to side and small C20 additions to left.
