ST GERMANS QUAY ROAD, St Germans SX 35 NE 5/118 Nos. 1-4

Row of 4 estate houses. Circa 1840, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble. 2-span slate roof with gable ends and gable end stacks with brick shafts, central axial stack. Plan: Double depth plan, each house with 1 room to front and rear; each pair has a central shared porch. The outer rooms heated by gable end stacks, the inner rooms by the axial stack with back to back fireplaces. Nos. 1 and 2 to right, Nos. 3 and 4 to left. Exterior: Nos. 1 and 2 have central gabled porch with raised coped verges and kneelers, C20 doors set internally at an angle to right and left. 2-light 2-pane casements to right and left with segmental heads. At first floor, 2 hipped half- dormers, No. 2 has a 2-light 2-pane casement, No. 1 has the original 2-light 10-pane casement with L hinges. Nos. 3 and 4 to left have same gabled porch, with internal 4-panelled doors, casements at ground floor and hipped half-dormers above, dormer to No. 3 with original glazing. Left side has a single storey lean-to. Interior: Not inspected.
