Detached mine chimney. Early C19. Killas rubble with granite collar and brick upper
stage. Round plan, tapered. 2 stages. Upper stage partly fallen. Tapered. Put
log holes to stone walling, used for scaffolding during construction. Projecting
collar has ovolo-moulding to upper side.
This tower is detached to give better flue draught to beam engine house lower down
the slope.
One of very few early mining remains in Cornwall and part of the Consols Mine which
during the 1830s was the most successful copper and tin mine in the world.
