PROBUS SW 84 NE 4/55 Tregeagle Farmhouse -

GV II

Farmhouse. Cl7 with mid C19 wing to front. Stucco, shale rubble and cob, Delabole slate and scantle slate roofs with brick chimneys. L-shaped plan. Tall 2-storey 2-window C19 wing has 12-paned sashes, 1 on east ground floor with sidelights. Entrance to right in angle has pediment on consoles. Hipped roof overmoulded eaves cornice and chimney over west wall. Lower C17 south front is partly blocked by wing but hidden windows to left are now internal cupboards. Ground floor now has 16-paned sash where front door was and 3-light C20 window in widened opening to right. First floor windows are tall 12-paned sashes. Gable stack at lower end to right is external. Interior has moulded cornice in ground floor room of C19 wing and open well stair with wreathed mahogany handrail over newel. C17 part has slate flagged floor in cross passage and second stair area with post end panel screens and bowtell moulded partition to first floor. Chamfered oak ceiling joists in lower room and pegged roof structure.
