Chimney of East Wheal Rose
Mine

Chimney of the resurrected East Wheal Rose Mine, north shaft (Silver-Land). 1881.
Uncoursed killas stone and brick. Freestanding, approx 53m to east of the Engine
House (q.v.). Approx 90 cm diameter at base, and 30m high (l00ft to match cylinder),
with two opposed arched openings at qround level dressed with buff brick. Chimney
tapers upwards, the upper section of c.64 courses in brick, with further is courses
of spaced corbels, and capped with 8 courses. battered in at top. Paired putlog/
drain holes in shaft. Chimney is linked underground by arched flues passing the
boilers, to the engine house.
