CUBERT TREVEAL SW 75 NE 2/27 Haven Cottage 4.7.73 GV II

House; one of a pair of attached houses. Circa late C17, with addition of C19 and C20 additions. Stone rubble and cob, rendered, roughcast and painted. Thatched roof with gable ends. Gable end stack to right with rendered shaft; there was formerly a stack to left, in an axial position, the shaft removed. The rear outshut has a slurried slate roof. Plan: 2-room and cross passage plan, with slightly larger room to right and smaller room to left, each heated from an end stack. There is a C19 single storey outshut behind the passage and the room to right. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 2-window front. Central C20 door; to right and left a 2-light 10-pane C20 casement. First floor has two smaller 2-light 8-pane casements of C19. The right end has the render removed; single light in the outshut and single storey flat-roofed C20 addition. At the rear the outshut has 2-light 4- pane C20 casement and C20 half-glazed door, with C20 lean-to to right. Interior: The room to right has C19 ceiling beams and C20 fireplace. Room to left has C19 moulded beams, blocked fireplace to left. Straight stair in the passage. The room to left would have been the parlour, the room to right the kitchen. At first floor, the rooms are ceiled, with no access to the roof structure.
