SW 72 NE ST. ANTHONY -IN-MENEAGE 2/244 Lantinning Cottage 1.5.70 GV II

Small house. Probably late C18. Painted cob over rubble base, wooden lintels, slate sills. Wheat reed thatched roof over original part with brick chimneys over gable ends. Hipped shingle roof over C20 single storey extention, left; parallel gable ended asbestos slate roof at rear left and scantle slate roofed lean-to at rear right. Originally a 2 room through or cross passage plan (partitions removed C20); circa early C19 outshut behind left room with flue inserted to back wall; finally extended at the left hand side in the C20. Two storeys to original part, otherwise single storey. Nearly symmetrical 2 window east front with nearly central doorway with C20 door. Probably original circa late C18 12-pane horizontal sliding sashes with crown glass. C20 thatched hood over doorway. Interior has unmoulded ceiling beams. 1st floor and roof not inspected. This house is situated in wooded surroundings overlooking the beautiful Gillan Creek.
