House now 2 cottages formerly known as 1 and 2 Cottsbridge Cottages. Probably C17
origins. Colourwashed and plastered cob with thatched roof gabled at ends.
Projecting rendered stack with brick shaft at left gable end, brick ridge chimney,
brick chimney at right gable end. Single depth plan with front curved slightly at
street corner. Probably a 3-room cross or through-passage plan kitchen left,
hallstack, backing onto cross passage and heated parlour right. 2 storeys.
Asymmetrical 3 window long range with entrances now only at rear. Ground floor
window left small wide C19 8-pane hornless sash. 5 other small irregularly-spaced
ground floor windows. First floor window left sash similar to ground floor window
left. 2 other first floor windows are 2-light C20 casements, 3 panes per light,
thatch eyebrowed over. No.1 has sawn ceiling beams to ground floor room left,
said to have some pegged roof trusses.
