GRADE-RUAN CADGWITH SW 71 SW 9/16 The Kiddlewinck and The Dolphin (previously listed as 2 cottages immediately NE of 10 7 57 Harbour Cottage & Veronica Cottage) GV II Pair of cottages. C17. Serpentine exposed rubble walls with timber lintels over openings. Plastered cob around dormer window of The Kiddlewink. Slate roofs below dormers. Thatched roof with rendered chimney on front and brick stacks in gables. 1 1/2 storeys on front6 window range, central doorway to each cottage with gabled porches, flanked by horizontal sliding sash windows to the kiddlewink and 2-light casements to The Dolphin. 1 attic casement to each cottage, set back in thatch above eaves. Central lateral stack on front with rendered shaft. 2 1/2 storeys to south-east gable of Dolphin with C20 double timber doors to cellars. (Previously used for fishing industry with cobbled floor and large drains). Later extension at rear with slate outshut to basement. Interior of The Dolphin: large exposed fireplace on right-hand side with large timber chamfered lintel with step stops. Cloam oven on right. Simple panelled screens on ground floor. Timber pegs in base of rafters. Roof not accessible. (Interior of the Kiddlewinck not inspected).
