Former Church Cove lifeboat house

(Formerly listed as Lifeboat House The Cellars)

Lifeboat house, now dwelling. 1887. Inscription: "Erected and presented to Royal National Lifeboat Institution in memory of T and H S Chavasse and Rev and M C Chavasse."

MATERIALS: Rubble stone with granite quoins, lintels and dressings. Slate roof.

PLAN: Rectangular, lying north-south with double doors in north gable.

EXTERIOR: Terracotta roundels flank the doors with inscription above. Single narrow glazed light below apex of gable. South gable: ground floor entrance door with tall narrow window, single light without glazing bars on right-hand side. Single narrow glazed light below apex of gable. East elevation: facing the sea, three narrow lights with C20 casement windows with glazing bars. Two C20 horizontal windows directly below eaves.

INTERIOR: not inspected.

Included for group value with the cellars (qv).
