10/143 Guide post at junction between - B3291 and Gweek Lane
GV II
Guide post. Circa. Late C19. Cast iron. Octagonal-on-plan shaft base with 12- sided on fluted shafts over. The shaft is in 3 diminishing-sized stages with cornice at the top. Over the cornice is the hub for, 3 pointers surmounted by an ogee-headed ball finial. The pointers have rounded ends and embossed letters. Inscribed to: HELSTON, FALMOUTH and REDRUTH with no mileages. This is a rare early example of an iron guide post. The only such example yet seen in West Cornwall during this survey.
