4/145 Gilmore, including front garden - walls and gate piers
GV II
House including front garden walls and gate piers. Probably circa 1860s. Dressed granite brought to course with dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones and lintels; side walls rubble. Hipped dry Delabole slate roof with projecting eaves and brick chimneys with cornices over the side walls plus axial chimney over the integral rear wing. L-shaped plan : 2 nearly equal front rooms (left hand room slightly wider) with cross passage between and kitchen wing at right angles behind the left hand room with stair hall between. 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window north, road front with tall narrow doorway central to the fenestration. Original 4-panel top glazed door within doorcase with moulded and carved consoles carrying a squat triangular pediment. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. Interior not inspected. There is a tall coped rubble wall adjoining at right angles to either side returning at the front as a low dressed granite chamfered plinth, originally with iron railings and an off-centre gateway with round-headed granite monolith piers. This house is part of a group of Listed Buildings near the church.
