7/39 Carter Monument at approx 12m north of north transept of Church of St Breaca
GV II
Monument. C18. Granite ashlar. Slate inset into a pedimented front with an integral buttress with moulded set-offs behind. The pediment is triangular. The incised segmental headed slate has west facing inscription to : Francis Carter, died 1774 aged 62; Agnes, his wife, died 1784 aged 70; Charles their son died 1803 aged 40 and on a separate piece of slate inserted later below to Francis, their son, died 1814 aged 70. This monument is very similar to the Cornish monument also in this churchyard.
