Terrace of 6 houses. Late C18 or early C19. Broadmayne brick in Flemish bond, painted to Nos 8-11, some squared and coursed Portland stone or rubble in the rear walls, slate or asbestos-cement slate roofs. An unusually grand urban terrace, with double ridge roofs to a central valley. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, each 2 windows; all glazing-bar sashes in reveals, to stone splayed flush lintels with central keystone. At first floor 6-pane, possibly originally 12-pane, above 12- and 12-pane; glazing bars missing to No.12 at ground and first floors, and No.10, ground floor. No.11 has a wide tripartite sash window under continuous wide lintel with keystone. All doors are arched, paired to Nos 8 & 9 and 12 & 13, with flush stone arches on impost blocks, and in reveals, on 2 stone steps. Early panelled doors remain to Nos 8, 11 & 13. A small projecting stone plinth to threshold height, a plain string course above ground floor and, and a stone moulded cornice stopped to kneelers, which are on the skew. There are 2 gable stacks to most of the houses. At the back most have projecting gabled lower wings, and the first 2, with stone rear walls, are deeper than the remainder; towards the N end there is some rubble in rear walls. Various glazing-bar sashes remain. INTERIOR: not inspected.
